What You Need to Play
- Players: 4 to 7 people (add another deck for more players)
- Deck: A standard deck of 52 cards
- Space: A table or flat surface for the discard pile
How to Play the President Card Game
The Goal
The aim is to get rid of all your cards as fast as possible. The first player to finish becomes the President, the second player becomes the Vice President, and the last player is the Scum. Everyone else takes on neutral roles.
Setting Up
- Shuffle and Deal: Deal all cards from the standard deck of 52 evenly among players. It’s okay if some players have one extra card.
- Start the Game: In the first game, the player with the 3 of Clubs begins. In following rounds, the President starts the game.
Playing the Game
- Starting with the President:
The first player (the starter or President) plays a card or a set of cards (e.g., a single card, a pair, or three of a kind). The next player must play matching cards or cards of a higher rank.
- Example: If the President plays a pair of 6s, the previous player must play a pair of 7s or higher.
- Player Can Play or Pass:
- Players take turns in a clockwise order.
- If a player can play a higher card or play a pair, they should. Otherwise, the player passes their turn.
- Clearing the Pile:
- Playing a 2 clears the pile. The player who plays the 2 starts the next pile by leading with any card or set.
- If all players pass, the last person to play starts a new pile.
- Special Combos:
- Four of a Kind: Completing four of the same rank clears the pile instantly.
- Revolutions (Optional): If someone plays four of a kind, the card rankings flip (low cards become high, and vice versa).
- Ending the Round:
- The first player to run out of cards becomes the President.
- The second player is the Vice President, and so on.
- The last player with cards is the Scum.
Trading Cards
Before the next round:
- The Scum must give their highest card(s) to the President.
- The President gives back the same number of low-value cards.
- The Vice President may also trade with the second-to-last player.
Fun Variations
- Drinking Version:
- The President can make anyone drink.
- The Scum must refill everyone’s drinks.
- Everyone drinks when a 2 is played.
- Aces High:
Aces become the highest cards in the game. - Jokers:
Add Jokers to the game as wildcards that can beat any card or set. - Matching Cards to Skip:
If a player matches the rank of the previous card (e.g., playing a 5 on another 5), they skip the next player’s turn.
